Here is my petition to HM Government, with limited wording such as is required for submission:

HALT UK NET ZERO PROGRAMME UNTIL END OF CURRENT USA PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATION

Cancel/withdraw/repeal any and all Net Zero policies/laws, for review in 2029.
Use the time to quantify actual risks to UK from predicted climate issues,
prepare plan to mitigate them & action where imminent.
Sign up for Rolls Royce SMR for energy security now.
And focus on fixing broken Britain.

Continuing with the crippling expense of accelerated Net Zero in the hope of reducing our < 1% of global
CO2 emissions when USA is clearly intent on increasing its (13x ours) emissions is outright insanity.
Let's pause for these 4 years and focus on getting the UK's house in order
so that, if the world doesn't or can't do enough, we have a Plan B.
Sustainability is 3 things: environmental, social and economic. The UK must focus on the
latter 2 for now because they are in dire straits.
